The Golden Cord
What I Offer
There’s a golden thread that connects you—to your baby, your body, and your birth journey. Everywhere I look, I see how powerful it is when mothers are welcomed into this process with kindness, wisdom, and calm. The Golden Cord was born from my belief that birth and early motherhood can be sacred, trusting, and deeply connected — not rushed, pressured, or overwhelming.

I’m Jess Cheatwood: birth worker, childbirth educator, and board-certified lactation consultant. I’ve walked beside mothers and their families for over a decade, helping them move through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with presence, preparation, and compassion.

Prenatal Classes
I guide families through childbirth & breastfeeding preparation in ways that honor both the mothers heart and body. In group settings or privately, we move slowly through what your birth and feeding needs might be — so you can feel confident, calm, and deeply informed before your baby arrives.

Postpartum & Lactation Care
Those first days and weeks after birth are powerful, tender, and sometimes raw. I’m here for you then too—helping you heal, helping your baby latch, and helping you feel more like yourself again. This is postpartum care rooted in mindfulness, in compassion, in helping you rest into parenthood.

Why The Golden Cord
Because birth is more than a moment—it’s a journey you deserve to feel prepared for and present in.
Because that “invisible connection” between you and baby matters. The cord may be a symbol, but the presence and love it represents are real.
Because you should never feel like you’re doing this alone. Your questions, your fears, your hopes—all of it matters, and I’m here to walk with you.
